Bank of America is looking for a Fair Lending Attorney to join their Legal Team. This individual will be responsible for providing legal support on fair lending & banking/anti-discrimination, UDAAP, and/or Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) requirements across the enterprise. The role involves interpreting laws and regulations, identifying and mitigating risk, and supporting company responses to government agency examinations and investigations.

The successful candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and be licensed to practice law in at least one state where Bank of America does business. They should also have 5 or more years of relevant experience as an attorney, with a strong understanding of anti-discrimination and consumer protection laws and regulations. Experience with fair lending & banking laws and/or UDAAP/UDAP laws is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

- Provide ongoing legal advice, counsel, and advocacy on fair lending & banking/anti-discrimination, UDAAP, and/or CRA requirements
- Interpret current and proposed laws and regulations as they apply to various aspects of the product lifecycle, customer treatment, models and data use, channel strategy, and marketing
- Identify and mitigate risk, including supervision and evaluation of testing and monitoring and internal reviews under attorney-client privilege
- Support company responses to government agency examinations and investigations, enforcement actions, private complaints, and litigation

Requirements:

- Juris Doctor degree and licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one state in which Bank of America does business
- 5 or more years of relevant experience as an attorney in a law firm, government agency, or in-house environment
- Strong understanding of anti-discrimination and consumer protection laws and regulations, including relevant federal/state/local fair lending & banking laws and/or UDAAP/UDAP laws

- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with high-level business leaders
- Strong issue spotting, risk assessment, research, and problem-solving/analytical skills

- Strong organizational/project management skills and attention to detail
- Initiative and a strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently
- Client-focused, with an emphasis on prompt delivery of quality services
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
