The Challenge

As a Litigation Associate at Burns & Farrey, ., you will be responsible for leading our clients' litigation needs and communicating that information to our internal teams. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of rethinking how law firms operate and to help drive our growth as we continue to add clients.

We are seeking detail-oriented and passionate individuals with a strong interest in litigation and trial work. This career path is challenging, but also highly rewarding. Join our scaling and tight-knit firm, where you will work directly with innovative partners and thought leaders across various industries and geographies to provide litigation solutions for our clients. We take pride in delivering thoughtful work to our clients and advising our partners on the best strategies to tackle challenges.

The Skill Set

To be successful in this role, candidates must have one to two years of experience working in a law firm. Strong academic credentials, organizational skills, and writing and analytical skills are also required. Law review or top class rank is preferred, and a state or federal clerkship is a plus. Admission to the New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, or Connecticut bars is also desirable. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting with clients, responding to discovery requests, drafting motions and supporting memoranda, arguing motions, conducting depositions, and second-chairing trials.

-Complete B&F Training, our onboarding program designed to get you up to speed on our business, vision, and team and gain an understanding of how your role fits into B&F's broader organization.
-Start working on written discovery, researching key legal issues, and learning about our proprietary client reporting methods.
-Gain insight into how your law school background can be applied to real-world challenges.
-Join a tight-knit team dedicated to your growth and development.

Within 3 Months You’ll…

-Be able to handle motions, pleadings, and memoranda independently.
-Have opportunities to participate in CLE programs and other learning opportunities to foster growth in areas of your choosing.
-Continue training with trial attorneys who have over 30 years of experience.

Within 6-12 Months You’ll...

-Independently take on projects and cases.
-Work one-on-one with clients and partners on challenging issues.
-Start to build your own casework.
