Job Title: Medical Malpractice Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm located in Denver, CO, is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Litigation Attorney to join their legal team. This position offers the opportunity to handle complex medical malpractice litigation cases and work within a dynamic team environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong case management skills and experience in medical malpractice defense, with the possibility of a hybrid working schedule following successful training.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in medical malpractice litigation cases from start to finish.
  • Manage and oversee case files, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Participate in depositions, including taking and defending fact and expert depositions.
  • Prepare and engage with expert witnesses, including drafting expert disclosures and reports.
  • Handle all aspects of pre-trial discovery, including managing large document productions and database matters.
  • Draft pre-trial motions and handle related legal procedures.
  • Manage client relationships and communication, ensuring clear and effective reporting on case progress.
  • Coordinate with insurance claims representatives, offering case assessments and strategy recommendations.
  • Lead first-chair mediations and trial/arbitration proceedings.
  • Supervise paralegals and delegate appropriate tasks to ensure case efficiency.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including marketing and drafting legal publications.
  • Travel as needed to attend court hearings, depositions, and meetings with clients.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Colorado.
  • Previous experience in medical malpractice litigation is preferred.
  • Strong case management, research, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Word and Outlook for case management and communication.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned cases.
  • Experience with pre-trial motions and expert witness preparation.
  • Experience in first-chair mediation and trial experience is a plus.
  • Strong business development and client relations skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active and valid license to practice law in Colorado.
