Salary Information:
• Base salary range for this position is between $70,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
• Employees are also eligible for competitive incentive targets and a comprehensive benefits package.

Experience Information:
• 2+ years of experience at a law firm or insurance company.
• Prior exposure to middle-market D&O and E&O matters and Federal Securities Class Actions, Derivative Litigation and SEC-related matters is desired.

Position Summary:
• Seeking a talented and dynamic claims professional to join the Management Liability claims team at AXIS Insurance.
• This position will handle primary and excess claims involving Public and Private D&O, Financial Institutions and Private Equity.
• Preferred candidates will be able to commute to an AXIS office, as it is a hybrid work environment three days a week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Independently handle a portfolio of middle-market primary and excess claims.
• Analyze insurance coverage issues and draft coverage position letters.
• Investigate liability and damages issues and maintain documentation.
• Evaluate claims and make accurate reserve recommendations.
• Attend mediations/settlement conferences and negotiate claim resolutions.
• Assign and supervise outside counsel for the defense of insureds.
• Maintain and develop relationships with insureds, brokers, and outside counsel.
• Communicate regularly with Senior Claim and Underwriting Managers.
• Professionally represent AXIS in the marketplace and assist underwriting.
• Respond to broker and insured inquiries with a high level of customer service and urgency.
• Assess claims to support ML claim metrics/trends.
• Participate in special projects and department initiatives.
• Provide best-in-class claims service.

• Excellent writing skills.
• Demonstrated negotiation and analytical skills.
• Adjuster licenses where required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications and Share Point.
