Product & Privacy Counsel at Cedar - Exciting Opportunity in Healthcare Technology

As a Product and Privacy Counsel, you will play a crucial role in providing legal advice and guidance as Cedar navigates complex laws and regulations in healthcare, payments, consumer privacy, and AI. This is an exciting opportunity to join a lean and dynamic Legal & Compliance team at a rapidly growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide end-to-end product counseling, from initial stages of product development to post-launch support
- Collaborate with product and business teams to identify potential legal risks and provide risk-mitigation counseling
- Contribute to the development of processes to improve product counseling function
- Review marketing and other communications related to products
- Draft and negotiate product and security related changes to customer contracts
- Work closely with potential vendors and customers to understand data flows and determine privacy and data protection risks and solutions
- Contribute as a team player to further the status of the Legal & Compliance department within the company

Requirements:

- JD degree from an accredited law school and license in good standing to practice law in at least one state bar
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience at a top law firm and/or in-house, with a minimum of 2 years focused on fintech, product, and/or privacy law
- Strong foundation in product counseling, privacy and security laws, marketing, and technology transactions
- Deep understanding of data privacy and risk issues, with the ability to translate technical and security concerns into answers understandable to non-technical lawyers
- Business and legal judgment, with the ability to escalate concerns when necessary
- Self-starter with a growth mindset and ability to build collaborative relationships across teams
- Interest in the unique privacy and regulatory considerations in healthcare and payments, including the use of AI and machine learning
- Experience working for a company offering platform services to large healthcare entities is a plus
