Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
An Orem, UT-based law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Associate Attorney to manage collection and litigation matters. The ideal candidate will excel in handling a high-volume caseload, possess strong written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills, and thrive in a fast-paced legal environment. This position provides an opportunity to work on challenging legal issues while contributing to a team-oriented practice.

Duties:

  • Manage litigation matters, including breach of contract and collection cases, from demand through judgment.
  • Prepare and present motions, including Motions for Summary Judgment.
  • Represent clients in court hearings (telephonic and in-person).
  • Address escalated and time-sensitive cases as required.
  • Oversee caseload to align with client goals and expectations.
  • Participate in special projects and fulfill additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of California.
  • Experience or familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is an advantage.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California (required).

Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong legal research proficiency utilizing various sources.
  • Familiarity with legal software and productivity tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Adept at prioritizing and managing a large caseload efficiently.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and effective at resolving problems promptly.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Adaptable and committed to meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
