A law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in handling complex employment litigation and investigations, with a focus on wage and hour disputes, collective and class actions, and matters before various labor and employment agencies.

Job Overview:

The Employment Litigation Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing and litigating employment law cases, including wage and hour disputes, before federal and state courts and various labor agencies. The role requires a deep understanding of employment law, excellent litigation skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage investigations and litigation before the . Department of Labor, California Department of Industrial Relations, California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, EEOC, and other relevant state and local human rights agencies.
  • Represent clients in matters before the National Labor Relations Board, including issues related to union organizing, collective bargaining, unfair labor practices, union elections, and arbitrations.
  • Handle employment litigation cases in federal and state courts, including defending against wage and hour claims, collective and class actions.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and prepare detailed legal documents such as briefs, memoranda, and case strategies.
  • Develop and implement case strategies, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients on employment law compliance, risk management, and litigation avoidance.
  • Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and regulatory agencies to effectively manage and resolve cases.
  • Stay abreast of changes in employment law and industry trends to offer informed and proactive legal advice.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience defending federal and state wage and hour cases, including collective and class actions.
  • Education: Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Certification: Admitted to practice in California.
  • Skills:
    • Demonstrated experience handling investigations and litigation before various labor and employment agencies.
    • Proven ability to represent clients in matters before the National Labor Relations Board.
    • Expertise in managing employment litigation cases in both federal and state courts.
    • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
    • Ability to develop and execute effective case strategies.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
