NMLA has locations throughout the state including Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces, Gallup, Roswell, Silver City, Clovis, Hobbs, Las Vegas, Taos, and Santa Ana. NMLA is seeking a Paralegal for its Statewide Housing Stability program to assist in serving eligible clients threatened with loss of their housing, housing subsidies, as well as statewide clinics and outreach. This position may be housed in any of NMLA's statewide office locations, but there is a preference for the Albuquerque office in order to work closely with the Statewide Housing Stability Manager. **Job Duties:** - Process intakes - Draft pleadings - Contact clients - Support attorneys in preparation for court - Send referrals to other support service agencies - Engage in outreach - Arrange and assist with legal clinics **Qualifications:** - At least three years' experience as a Paralegal is preferred but will consider exceptionally well qualified entry level candidates - Expertise in housing and statewide resources available to low-income persons - Ability to effectively use computer technology and remote communications systems - Ability to effectively collaborate with staff located in multiple offices - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Ability to manage multiple tasks and build collaborative relationships within the staff and the community served by NMLA - Willingness to travel statewide - Proficiency in Spanish is a plus **Compensation:** Pay is dependent upon experience.
