The Innovation and Technology Solutions Attorney role at Latham & Watkins is a full-time position with a hybrid work arrangement and a salary range of $190,000-$210,000 per year. The role is located in one of Latham & Watkins' offices in California, including Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco, or Silicon Valley. The successful candidate will have a JD or equivalent and be admitted to the California state bar, with a minimum of four years of experience as a practicing lawyer. The candidate should also have experience in a technology role, preferably with completion of an intensive software development/coding bootcamp. This role is responsible for connecting the firm's lawyers, clients, and the Technology & Information Services Department to ensure the firm's technology systems, tools, and services are meeting the needs of practicing attorneys and clients. Other responsibilities include staying abreast of new technologies, leveraging existing and emerging technologies, and fostering relationships with third-party vendors and industry organizations.

Responsibilities:

- Serve as a connection point between lawyers, clients, and the Technology & Information Services Department
- Understand the technology needs of the firm's lawyers and clients at the practice group level
- Develop technical strategies to improve efficiency and integrate applications and technology solutions into practice group workflows
- Stay updated on new technologies that could impact legal service delivery
- Leverage existing and emerging technologies into specific practices
- Coordinate pilot and proof of concept programs
- Make recommendations for strategic deployment of efficient processes, technology-related policies, software tools, and other technology-assisted solutions
- Communicate with third-party vendors and foster strategic relationships with industry organizations and innovation thought leaders

Qualifications:

- Experience as a practicing lawyer in a law firm or in a legal operations role
- JD or equivalent and admission to the California state bar
- Experience in a technology role, preferably with completion of an intensive software development/coding bootcamp
- Knowledge and experience with scripting languages, front-end technologies, and database languages
- Passion for emerging technologies and ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Demonstrated innovation and process improvement experience
- Familiarity with legal technologies and industry trends
