Organization is seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Attorney (Associate Counsel - Level A) to join our General Counsel team. The Associate Counsel will work in a dynamic environment as in-house counsel to serve the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation’s Supply Chain Services group.

The Associate Counsel will be responsible for negotiating contracts and ensuring that each contract meets all of the System’s legal and internal operating procedure requirements. The Associate Counsel will work in collaboration with internal stakeholders and should be able to effectively communicate and manage priorities at all levels of the System.

The successful candidate must possess a baccalaureate degree or equivalent, and LLB or JD from an accredited School of Law, and admission to New York State Bar. The candidate must also have at least three (3) years of experience and background in the practice of law subsequent to admission to the Bar in matters of litigation, negligence, corporate law, contracts, real estate, labor relations, labor law and employee relations.

The Associate Counsel will have a strong sense of ownership and an interest in playing a meaningful role in the operation of a large, integrated healthcare delivery system through the performance of legal work. The successful candidate will also possess a proactive attitude, excellent interpersonal, writing, analytical, problem-solving and customer service skills.

The Associate Counsel will have knowledge and experience in HIPAA and Business Associate Agreements, New York State labor laws, CMS regulations, anti-kickback laws, FOIL, public procurement methods, and vendor diversity requirements. Transactional experience, in-house experience, as well as specialized knowledge and experience with commercial contracting in a healthcare environment is preferred.

### Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Chief Procurement Counsel within the Office of Legal Affairs, the Associate Counsel will be responsible for:

- Negotiating contracts and ensuring that each contract meets all of the System’s legal and internal operating procedure requirements.
- Drafting policies, assisting with audits, project-managing, facilitating dispute resolutions, conducting litigation management, and developing standard processes within Supply Chain Services.
- Conducting relevant legal research.
- Working in collaboration with internal stakeholders and effectively communicating and managing priorities at all levels of the System.

### Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree or equivalent, and LLB or JD from an accredited School of Law; and admission to New York State Bar;
