JOB SUMMARY
Law Firm is looking for an Associate with experience in Life Sciences to join their team. The Associate will work on a wide variety of intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution, opinion work, due diligence projects, and general intellectual property counseling. Associates will work on teams with senior members and more junior members of the Firm.

QUALIFICATIONS

- . in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in a law firm or in-house position, including experience as a technology specialist or patent agent
- Experience in cancer biology, immunology, or genetics is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Overseeing technology specialists/patent agents on patent preparation and prosecution matters
- Writing patent applications, including reviewing technical disclosures and participating in client interviews to understand new inventions
- Preparing responses to communications from the . Patent and Trademark Office, including developing arguments for patentability
- Analyzing patents as part of the IP due diligence for a potential acquisition or merger
- Assisting to prepare opinions
- Overseeing technology specialists/patent agents performing literature and patent searches for FTO and patentability analyses
- May take on additional responsibilities as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a professional office environment. The Firm currently operates on a hybrid work schedule, but we encourage regularly scheduled presence in the office environment, as we believe this to be an important and expected component of this position.
