A law firm located in Orem, UT, is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to handle collection and litigation matters. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills and will be responsible for managing breach of contract and collection litigation cases from demand through judgment. The role requires attending court hearings, preparing and arguing Motions for Summary Judgment, and managing a caseload effectively to meet client goals and expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage breach of contract and collection litigation matters from initial demand through final judgment.
  • Attend court hearings, both telephonic and in person.
  • Prepare, file, and argue Motions for Summary Judgment.
  • Efficiently manage assigned caseload to meet goals and client expectations.
  • Address escalated and time-sensitive matters as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of California; multi-jurisdictional admission in AZ, CA, NV, and TX preferred.
  • Experience with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong research skills, including proficiency in legal and non-legal sources.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to work effectively under pressure.
