Job Overview:
A law firm in Kansas City is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney with at least five years of experience in all phases of defense litigation. The ideal candidate will have a background in insurance defense and possess strong advocacy and communication skills. This role involves handling cases on a national level, requiring regular travel.

Location:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage files throughout the litigation process independently and collaboratively.

• Conduct fact investigations and site visits for accident investigations.

• Handle document productions and discovery tasks.

• Prepare and conduct witness depositions.

• Draft pleadings, briefs, and motions.

• Analyze policies, contracts, and legal documents.

• Attend and present oral arguments at court hearings.

• Participate in trial preparation and provide trial support.

• Conduct direct and cross-examinations of witnesses.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in defense litigation.

• Experience in insurance defense is preferred.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a legal team.

• Willingness to travel regularly for case management.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active licensure to practice law in Missouri and Kansas.
