Legal Assistant The candidate will provide assistance and support to legal staff, in gathering and organizing information, researching legal and factual issues, reviewing documents and correspondence, and preparing various opinions and legal documents. Assist all attorneys in the Legal Department in connection with law suits, subpoenas, provide general assistance to legal staff (attorneys, legal assistant, and clerical support staff) involving a variety of legal work including the gathering of factual information relative to legal issues. Supervise, organize and maintain Law Library and legal research tools. Handle various compliance related issues and items, including unclaimed property reports/filings. Maintain database of company contracts. Assist with matter management system administration. Assist with the board portal and corporate governance. Draft and prepare simple documents, agreements and forms. Be willing to assist others with projects outside their areas of responsibility (team player). Should have 2 - 6 years of work experience in a law firm or in a legal setting as a legal assistant or paralegal or equivalent. Bachelors or Associate college degree a plus. Paralegal certification a plus. Must have experience in legal research (Westlaw and/or LexisNexis). Trial experience a plus. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred (read/write/speak).
