The New Jersey Office of the Public Defender (NJOPD) is seeking college and graduate students for its internship program. This hands-on experience provides students with the opportunity to work alongside attorneys, investigators, and staff in providing legal representation to indigent individuals. The internship is available year-round and statewide.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting with investigations
- Client communication
- Research and writing
- Trial preparation and advocacy
- Attending court proceedings and training programs

Specialized Units:
- Recovery Court
- Mental Health Advocacy
- Office of Parental Representation
- Office of Law Guardian
- Office of Mental Health Advocacy
- Special Hearings Unit
- Conviction Integrity Unit
- Forensic Science Unit
