Corporate Counsel - Legal Expert for Contract Matters

Overview:

Join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design as a Corporate Counsel. In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal expertise on project contracts, contractual disputes, and formal claims and litigation.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with internal teams to propose risk management strategies and identify critical project risk issues.
- Utilize extensive litigation experience to manage contract review and disputes.
- Conduct internal and external investigations, including responding to administrative agency charges.
- Analyze non-compete/non-solicit agreements and draft cease and desist letters.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Experience with AAPs and OFCCP audits.
- Provide strategic counsel to Human Resources department and other internal business partners.
- Liaise with insurance brokers and internal corporate departments on coverage requirements and compliance.
- Manage tasks related to the integration of newly acquired firms.
- Review and negotiate various legal and contractual documents.
- Provide guidance on insurance coverage issues.
- Assist with post-acquisition integration matters.
- Handle general corporate governance matters as needed.

Qualifications:

- . Degree from an ABA-Accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- 6-8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably including in-house experience.
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar, additional states a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in professional liability law, specifically in the engineering and construction industry.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
