This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of low-income and vulnerable individuals in Maryland by providing them with life-changing civil legal assistance. As a Staff Attorney for the TRCP, you will handle a full caseload of eviction cases, advocate before administrative agencies, participate in client intake, and engage in broader advocacy efforts. This role requires a self-starter with excellent research, critical thinking, writing, and communication skills. Spanish language proficiency is desirable, and prior experience or interest in public-interest litigation or non-profit legal services is a plus. MLA is dedicated to preserving the basic human needs and rights of clients, particularly as they navigate the justice system. They have a team of over 100 attorneys who strive to level the legal playing field and provide equal access to justice for those most in need. Qualifications: - Admitted to practice in the State of Maryland or eligible for admission. - Juris Doctorate (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school. - Knowledge of civil law, judicial procedures, and rules of evidence. - Proficiency with computer and web-based applications, including Office 365. - Excellent research, critical thinking, writing, and communication skills. - Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to provide quality legal advocacy for a low-income and diverse client base. - Ability to travel locally and regionally in Maryland as needed. - Knowledge of Westlaw Edge or other legal research software is a plus. - 1-7 years of post-bar admission legal experience preferred. - Prior experience or interest in public-interest litigation or non-profit legal services is a plus. - Spanish language proficiency is desirable.
