Overview:

Elevance Health is seeking a highly experienced Legal Specialist Sr. to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to lead support staff and provide legal support services for multiple Medicaid states, enterprise-wide functions, and/or complex litigation. The ideal candidate will have a background in Medicaid or other government programs, good organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities include conducting legal research and analysis, preparing legal documentation, and attending legal proceedings. The Legal Specialist Sr. will also monitor state and federal legislation affecting the corporation and participate in negotiations and strategizing with business and staff.

Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model, with remote work options available. Candidates must live within a 50-mile or 1-hour commute of a relevant Elevance Health location.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and coach support staff
- Prepare and evaluate legal documentation
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Respond to subpoenas, records requests, and inquiries
- Investigate and resolve complex cases
- Monitor legislation and recommend changes
- Attend legal proceedings and represent the company
- Optimize solutions and improve practices
- Participate in negotiations and strategizing
- Enter information into databases
- Handle Provider Contracting for Medicaid markets

Requirements:

- Paralegal Certification or AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field
- 10+ years of legal or related experience
- Background in Medicaid or government programs preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel preferred

Salary Information:
