Law Firm is currently looking for a Fall Corporate Associate to join their team. This role is a part-time position with a flexible schedule, and is available to 2nd and 3rd year law students. The pay rate for this role is between $14-$17/hr, and raises and bonuses may be available for high-performing candidates.

This position will last for four months, and may be available for renewal in the Winter at the discretion of the Company. The Associate will be required to work 15-20 hours per week, depending on their availability.

The main duties of the Associate include:

Researching legal issues for client matters and preparing memoranda that follow the standard firm legal memo format.
Compiling and organizing information obtained from research on particular issues in a memo, graph, or chart.
Attending client meetings and (or) trainings in specific practice areas.
Recommending additional resources to the firm library.
Communicating regularly with supervising attorney on progress on projects.
Assisting with collaborations with co-counsel.

The practice areas of the firm include international corporate law, healthcare law, mergers and acquisitions, . business entity selection and counseling, . copyright and trademark, foreign direct investment, nonprofit law, and some occasional work in corporate litigation and securities.

To be eligible for this position, applicants must have graduated from an accredited four-year institution, be currently enrolled in an accredited law school, and be enrolled in coursework that directly reflects an interest in one or more of the central practice areas of the law firm. Applicants should also have plans to be admitted to the bar of one or more . states upon the completion of their legal studies.

This position is available as a remote position for applicants based in Miami, Cleveland, Columbus, New York, or outside of Gainesville, Florida. Those based in Gainesville, Florida will be on-site to complete their work, not remote.

Qualifications

Experience

Any prior experience in one of the central practice areas of the firm (intellectual property, international business, . corporate law, and non-profit law) is strongly considered. Applicant should demonstrate involvement in one or more programs or extracurricular activities in addition to his or her legal studies.
