A well-established law firm based in Encino, CA, is looking to bring on an experienced Associate Attorney with a strong background in insurance defense—specifically handling cases related to motor vehicle accidents, slip-and-fall incidents, and similar personal injury claims. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and independently handle a caseload of at least 30 active cases, primarily in the areas of insurance defense, MVA (motor vehicle accidents), slip-and-fall incidents, and general accident claims.
- Draft, file, and respond to legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
- Collaborate with clients and adjusters to assess case strategy, provide updates, and offer counsel on legal matters.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy, including preparing for trials and hearings.
- Work independently while maintaining effective communication with senior attorneys and support staff as needed.
- Keep track of deadlines and case progress, ensuring all filings and appearances are timely.
- Work efficiently in a remote work environment, ensuring that all case-related tasks are managed and completed promptly.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense, particularly with MVA, slip-and-fall, and general accident-related claims.
- Proven ability to independently handle a caseload of at least 30 cases.
- Strong familiarity with litigation processes, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage a remote work environment efficiently.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively argue and present cases.
- Solid time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Education & Certifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership and good standing with the California State Bar.
