The ideal candidate will have significant experience counseling employers on various ERISA and non-ERISA plans and arrangements, including retirement plans and health and welfare plans. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential for this role.

 

Duties:

  • Provide counsel to employers on a wide range of ERISA and non-ERISA plans and arrangements.
  • Advise clients on compliance issues related to retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and other employee benefits programs.
  • Draft and review plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other legal documents.
  • Assist with plan administration, including reviewing plan amendments and participant communications.
  • Represent clients in discussions and negotiations with regulatory agencies, such as the IRS and Department of Labor, regarding employee benefits matters.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
  • 5+ years of experience practicing employee benefits law.
  • Strong understanding of ERISA and other relevant federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in the State Bar of California.

 

Skills:

  • Significant experience counseling employers on employee benefits matters.
