A law firm in Raleigh, NC, is seeking an experienced Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and significant experience in real estate finance law from a large law firm. This role requires superb writing and communication skills and hands-on experience with large structured commercial real estate finance transactions, including mezzanine loans and preferred equity. The successful candidate will manage transactions from inception through closing and post-closing, including secondary market repurchase facilities and exit strategies.

Duties:

  • Represent lenders in large structured commercial real estate finance transactions, including mezzanine loans and preferred equity.
  • Manage all phases of transactions from inception through closing and post-closing.
  • Oversee secondary market repurchase facilities and devise effective exit strategies.
  • Handle asset management and workout scenarios as necessary.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review complex transaction documents and related agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal advice based on thorough research and analysis of real estate finance issues.
  • Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth transaction processes.
  • Prepare detailed reports, correspondence, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on legal developments and market trends affecting real estate finance.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3+ years of broad experience in real estate finance law, preferably from a large law firm.
  • Demonstrated experience in loan origination work for large structured commercial real estate finance transactions.
  • Proven ability to manage transactions from inception to closing, including post-closing activities.
  • Experience with secondary market repurchase facilities and exit strategies is highly desirable.
  • Asset management and workout experience is preferred.
  • High level of academic achievement and substantial large law firm experience.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in North Carolina or willingness to obtain.
