A law firm in Raleigh is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to primarily handle non-litigated insurance coverage work, including research, writing opinion letters, and advising insurers on their obligations regarding claims handling and coverage issues. Additional experience in litigation phases such as motion practice, drafting declaratory judgment actions, discovery, case management, hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials is preferred.

Duties:

• Conducting legal research related to insurance coverage matters.
• Drafting opinion letters and providing legal advice to insurers on claims handling and coverage issues.
• Handling phases of litigation including motion practice, drafting state and federal declaratory judgment actions, discovery, case management, hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials (preferred).
• Working independently and within a team environment to manage caseload effectively.

Requirements:

• Must hold a law license.
• Preferably licensed to practice law in North and/or South Carolina.
• 2-5 years of insurance coverage and litigation experience.
• Strong understanding of insurance policy interpretation.

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Law license required.

Skills:
