ProfileAssistant General Counsel - Labor and Employment Responsibilities: Primary labor, employment and ERISA counsel for Sungard AS. Provide applicable legal and business advice to Sungard AS Management, Human Resources and Employee Relations; Represent Sungard AS and manage outside counsel in claims and litigation before state and federal courts and agencies in the US and around the world. Take a hands-on role in coordinating, advising and assisting Human Resources on its plans, policies, training and strategies; Advise on immigration matters, including preparation of visa petitions.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have J.D. degree from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with at least one state Bar or the District of Columbia. Should have 7+ years’ substantive experience in employment law, litigation management, and corporate compliance as in-house counsel with a large public or privately held corporation or an employment focused law firm. In-house experience strongly preferred. Experience advising senior executives and management on business, compensation and employment practices. Excellent people and communication skills, strong business orientation, team player, self-motivating, collaborative, and energetic.
