Job Description

As the Litigation Chair, you will have the opportunity to serve as the head of the firm’s legal practice, leading the firm’s litigation team to victory in high-stakes cases. The ideal candidate will have an intimate knowledge of the criminal justice system and a passion for justice.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the firm’s litigation practice, including the development of strategies for clients.
Develop strategies to resolve legal issues and disputes.
Lead the legal team in the preparation of legal documents, including briefs, memoranda, motions, and pleadings.
Supervise the work of associate attorneys and paralegals.
Represent the firm in court proceedings.
Represent the firm in negotiations with opposing counsel.
Develop relationships with key stakeholders in the criminal justice system.
Provide guidance and mentorship to the firm’s legal team.
Serve as a legal advisor to the firm’s clients.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
Admitted to practice law in the state of New York.
Previous experience as a prosecutor or in a criminal defense practice.
Outstanding writing, research, and analytical skills.
Ability to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
Ability to effectively manage a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation

Varghese & Associates, . offers a competitive salary of $300,000 base with benefits package including retirement, health, and dental.
