Santa Ana office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a trust and estate administration associate attorney with 1+ years of experience. The candidate will be responsible for administering wills and trusts; preparing probate administration documents, conservatorship administration documents, estate administration documents, and accounts; gathering, inventorying, identifying, and valuing assets; distribution, allocation, and funding of sub-trusts; drafting court documents (such as 850 petitions and 17200 petitions); legal research; and communicating with clients, staff, and attorneys. Additional responsibilities will include preparation and review of accounts and review of estate tax returns and review of federal and state fiduciary income tax returns. Conduct legal analyses of issues in claims, requiring knowledge and understanding of applicable case law and statutes. Engage in direct communications via telephone and e-mail with attorneys, staff, and clients. Engage in litigation-related events including depositions, conferences, and hearings. Properly track and record time billed on claim-related tasks, reaching monthly goals following the initial training period. Administer guardianship and probate matters from filing to discharge including the use of restricted depository accounts and the creation of accountings. Must have experience in trust and estate administration law and have an understanding of general trust and estate accounts, conservatorships, as well as the entire administration process. Should have experience with trusts and other estate planning documents. Must be admitted to practice in the State of California. LLM in Tax or Estate Planning is a plus.
