Bodman, a leading law firm, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced corporate attorney to join their Business Practice Group (BPG). The ideal candidate should have at least 3-6 years of experience in buy-side and sell-side transactions, as well as a strong background in securities law and corporate governance matters. This is a full-time position and the candidate can be based in any of Bodman's offices.

As an attorney in the Business Practice Group, the candidate will work closely with other specialists in Bodman's various practice groups to provide comprehensive legal counsel to clients. The role may also involve working as an outside general counsel, collaborating with client principals and in-house counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide legal representation to clients for general corporate matters, including drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, handling securities law compliance matters, negotiating investment transactions, and drafting core company governance documents.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with colleagues and clients.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to developing and maintaining client relationships.
- Stay updated on latest developments in the field of law related to the attorney's practice area.
- Assist in training junior associates and support staff within the BPG team.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3-6 years of experience as a transactional attorney in a broad corporate practice at a large or mid-sized law firm.
- Strong experience in running M&A deal processes.
- . degree from an ABA-accredited institution.
- Licensed attorney in good standing in Illinois, Michigan, California, or Texas. Candidates outside these states who are interested in working remotely are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Willingness to assist in training and mentoring junior associates and support staff.
