## Job Opportunity: Associate Counsel

The Tennessee Department of Education is currently looking for an Associate Counsel to join their team. This position will serve under the direction of the Textbook Commission’s Board of Directors and provide information, data, legal advice, and support for the general counsel and other program areas.

**Job Responsibilities:**
- Advise on legal, regulatory, procedural, and/or personnel matters for an assigned department, and assist in the planning and research of special projects
- Review, research, interpret, and prepare both written and oral opinions on a wide variety of legal issues
- Draft, review, and approve policies and procedures, regulations, bylaws, and other legal documents
- Act as a liaison for an assigned office or person
- Prepare materials for presentations, speeches, and informational forums

**Minimum Qualifications:**
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
- Active license to practice law in the State of Tennessee
- At least 3 years of experience in a related field

**Salary:** $8, - $13,
