Duties:
- Conducting patent searches and analyzing prior art
- Drafting patent applications and responses to office actions
- Advising clients on patentability, infringement, and validity issues
- Prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO
- Conducting patent portfolio assessments and due diligence investigations
- Providing legal opinions and counseling on intellectual property matters
- Collaborating with inventors, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand technology and innovation
Requirements:
- Eligible to be admitted to practice before the . Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
- Background in computer science or electrical engineering, or a graduate degree in physics
- At least 2 years of patent attorney or agent experience
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Commitment to patent prosecution
Education & Certifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to a state bar (California preferred)
- Registration as a patent attorney with the USPTO
