Job Overview:
As the Director, Assistant General Counsel, Wage and Hour, you will be responsible for providing advice and guidance on a wide variety of labor and employment issues, with a strong focus on California wage and hour laws. You will also manage employment-related litigation and work closely with senior management to ensure compliance and risk management. This is a key role in creating new strategies to support teammates and drive efficiencies while upholding DaVita's position as the Partner and Employer of Choice.

Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance on federal and state wage and hour issues
- Oversee wage and hour litigation and manage costs effectively
- Respond and defend inquiries and investigations related to wage and hour complaints
- Train teammates and managers on wage and hour issues
- Advise senior management and DaVita business units on employment compliance and risk management
- Keep senior management informed of significant wage and hour decisions, legislation, and regulatory rulings
- Develop a thorough understanding of the company's business and people to identify trends and formulate appropriate strategies
- Establish a rapport and working relationship with teammates at all levels to encourage the use of in-house legal counsel
- Perform special assignments or projects
- Travel a minimum of 15%

Qualifications and Characteristics:
- . Degree with minimum 10 years of legal experience
- Significant experience advising on complex wage and hour issues at the state and federal level
- State bar qualification and good standing
