Job Title: Associate Attorney - General Practice Transactional and Defense Litigation

Experience: 5+ years of associate level experience

Location: Edwardsville, IL

Job Description:

Oversee business litigation, estate planning, probate, real estate, and contract matters
Research, analyze, and interpret law sources such as statutes, rules and regulations, ordinances, court decisions, and legal opinions
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel and courts
Develop business with new clients in the general practice area
Monitor routine case files to ensure deadlines are maintained; investigate facts and legal matters to determine causes of action
Make court appearances and handle caseload
Prepare pleadings, memos, briefs, etc.

Responsibilities:

Overseeing business litigation, estate planning, probate, real estate, and contract matters
Conducting legal research and analysis
Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and courts
Developing new business in the general practice area
Managing routine case files and investigating legal matters
Making court appearances and handling caseload
Preparing legal documents and briefs
