Director of Business Development, Legal, Compliance, and Risk

BDO, a top accounting and financial consulting firm, is seeking a Director of Business Development for Legal, Compliance, and Risk services. This role will be responsible for driving sales performance and identifying new business opportunities in line with the firm's overall strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong network of contacts in the legal market and a proven track record of generating C-Suite level relationships. This is a full-time position with the opportunity for travel to various BDO offices within the region.

Responsibilities:

- Develop new revenue opportunities for BDO's services, with a focus on attorneys and corporate counsel
- Utilize existing network of contacts to generate new business
- Create and execute business development plans in collaboration with practice leaders
- Identify necessary activities to drive opportunities and implement cross-selling and key account programs
- Facilitate monthly meetings with Regional BD Director and practice leaders to report on progress and adjust plans as needed
- Gather market intelligence and report back to the team on competitor activity and market trends
- Work with Principals to negotiate pricing and delivery of services to prospects
- Provide feedback to National Business Development Services on processes and tools
- Coordinate with BDO Alliance USA and BDO International member firms on initiatives

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field required
- Advanced degree preferred (JD, MBA)
- 15+ years of business development/marketing experience in a professional services environment
- Prior experience in accounting, financial consulting, business advisory services, or banking preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with a proven track record of generating C-Suite level relationships

Skills and Abilities:

- Advanced knowledge of sales processes, lead generation, event planning, and sales strategy development
- Ability to develop relationships with C-Suite executives, Board of Directors, and referral sources
- Strong business acumen and understanding of BDO's services and value proposition
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools
- Excellent project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Willingness to travel up to 50% annually to various BDO offices within the region

Compensation:

Individual salaries are determined based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and geography. The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 annually in California, Colorado, New York City/Valhalla, and Washington.
