Job Title: Staff Attorney - Veterans Advocacy Project Salary: Commensurate with experience Organization: Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) Location: 68-county TRLA service area (excluding El Paso) H1: Join Our Team as a Staff Attorney for the Veterans Advocacy Project H2: Make a Difference for Low-Income Veterans in Texas Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) is seeking a dedicated and motivated staff attorney to join our Veterans Advocacy Project. As a full-time staff attorney, you will have the opportunity to provide extended civil services to veterans in a wide range of legal matters. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of low-income veterans and their families. TRLA is committed to providing justice for those who need it most. We are looking for candidates who share this commitment and have a JD from an accredited university. If you are not currently licensed to practice law in Texas, we are willing to support you in taking the next available bar exam. As a staff attorney for the Veterans Advocacy Project, you will be responsible for evaluating clients' claims, providing direct representation in all stages of litigation, and counseling individuals seeking civil legal assistance. You will also have the opportunity to establish and maintain relationships with community partners to ensure integrated services and address systemic barriers facing veterans. In addition to working directly with clients, you will also have the opportunity to participate in education and outreach efforts to raise awareness about legal issues faced by low-income veterans and their families.
