A law firm seeks an experienced attorney to take on a Junior Partner role in its Civil Litigation practice. The ideal candidate will be a senior associate or junior partner-level attorney with significant experience in civil law, ready to take on leadership responsibilities, manage cases, and oversee a team. Duties

  • Lead and manage a team in defending clients in civil litigation cases across Missouri.
  • Independently handle depositions, trials, and appeals for civil cases.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as motions, petitions, and briefs.
  • Maintain and manage your own caseload, ensuring timely progress and high-quality work.
  • Collaborate with senior partners and staff to develop legal strategies and tactics.
  • Assist with client presentations, educational seminars, and drafting newsletter content.
  • Stay current on evolving legal practices and case law in Missouri civil matters.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff and paralegals.

Requirements

  • Experience in civil litigation, with a focus on Missouri law.
  • Proven experience in trial preparation and courtroom appearances.
  • Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Missouri State Bar (or eligibility to practice in Missouri).
