Job Description



  • A junior associate position is available in the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Department for a Life Sciences professional

  • The ideal candidate should possess an undergraduate or graduate life science degree (biological, chemical, or structural biology)

  • Candidate should have substantial course work or work experience involving computational biology, statistics or advanced mathematics

  • Knowledge of data reduction techniques, machine learning, discovery of classifiers, Bayesian analysis, or other computational optimization problems is required

  • Candidate should be able to read and understand computer source code in one or more programming languages such as Python

  • Knowledge of next generation sequencing techniques is not required but would be beneficial

  • Excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required

  • California bar membership is required for any associate candidates



Salary & Benefits



  • Salary wage range for this job posting is $215,000 to $415,000

  • The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors

  • Final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances

  • The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave)

  • If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, firm or individual department/team performance, and market factors
