Counsel, First Party PIP - Remote Hybrid Position at Travelers Overview: - The Counsel, First Party PIP position at Travelers is a full-time, remote hybrid position located in New York City. - The annual base salary range for this position is $100, - $165,, with additional performance-based cash incentive awards available. - This position is responsible for high-quality, proactive case handling and using legal expertise and litigation skills to handle a caseload of low to moderate complexity. - Travelers offers a culture rooted in innovation and collaboration, with opportunities for professional growth and development. - The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of prior litigation practice or prior legal experience, with an active license in good standing to practice law in the state(s) where representation is required. Responsibilities: - Develop and apply effective trial skills and techniques to litigate cases to verdict. - Conduct legal research and demonstrate strong and persuasive legal writing and presentation skills. - Supervise research projects and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other documents. - Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients and business partners. - Adhere to best practices in file handling and utilize available technology and automation. - Travel as needed to meet business needs and provide advice and training to claim partners and clients. - Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: - Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. - A minimum of one year of litigation practice or prior legal experience. - Active license in good standing to practice law in the state(s) where representation is required. - Valid driver's license required depending on location.
