In this role, you will become the trusted advisor for our Private Bank Lending Solutions business, ensuring that we stay on the cutting edge while maintaining a safe and sound approach. As part of the Private Bank Credit Legal team, you will support multiple geographic segments, ultra-high and high net worth client distribution channels, and lending products. This includes providing legal support to our internal document preparation team, customer-facing Lending Specialists, Credit Risk executives and underwriters, and loan operations partners. You will also play a key role in coordinating the legal team's involvement in significant business, controls, and compliance initiatives, as well as cross-line of business projects. Responsibilities: - Support and advise on commercial and wealth management lending transactions, including fund finance and sports finance lending - Escalate issues and share potential concerns with legal, compliance, and control functions across the company - Advise on new products, pricing, marketing, and regulatory issues affecting financial institutions in a multi-state and international environment - Prepare and update standard forms and procedures and manage outside counsel relationships - Partner with Risk, Controls, and Compliance colleagues to address operational and regulatory risk and ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations Required Qualifications: - At least 5 years of relevant lending/finance transactional experience at a law firm or in-house legal department at a large bank or financial services company - Strategic vision to anticipate legal issues for different lending products and distribution channels - Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple issues, and interact with senior and executive management - Self-starter with strong analytical and collaborative skills - Adaptability and ability to apply existing skills to unfamiliar subject matter areas - Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the jurisdiction where the role will be located Preferred Qualifications: - Experience collaborating on a broad range of business strategies and issues - Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements for commercial banking and wealth management businesses - Demonstrated problem-solving and project management skills, judgment, and character All candidates for roles in the Legal department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review before starting employment.
