Job Summary:

- The Attorney will provide legal advice and representation in matters involving unaccompanied children and assist in recruiting, mentoring, and training pro bono attorneys.
- The position will also assist the Director of Immigration Legal Services with reporting and supervising interns/volunteers.
- The Attorney will work collaboratively with social work case managers to ensure clients receive holistic services.
- Salary range: $75,500 to $81,806 per year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Conduct intake interviews and provide legal advice to clients.
- Provide ongoing legal representation to clients.
- Assess the need for pro bono representation and refer cases to the Pro Bono Team.
- Assist in recruiting, mentoring, and training pro bono attorneys for unaccompanied children cases.
- Screen for the need for navigator services and refer individuals to Newcomer Network navigators.
- Conduct outreach activities in the community.
- Assist with supervising assigned interns/volunteers.
- Ensure timely submission of all external and internal program reports.
- Serve as a liaison between the program and community partners.
- Complete Continuing Legal Education and fulfill any licensing requirements.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

- Law Degree (.).
- Admission to the practice of law in any state and/or Washington, DC (Maryland Bar Preferred).
- One-year experience in immigration law.

Skills and Competencies:

- Bilingual (English and Spanish).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally at all levels and across diverse cultures.
