The position of Associate In-House Counsel at Community Care Physicians is a full-time, Monday-Friday role based in Latham, NY. The candidate will join the Legal Department and be responsible for providing legal support and advice to the company in various areas, including contract negotiation and review, corporate governance, risk management, and compliance with healthcare laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities: - Review and draft contracts, negotiate terms, and ensure adherence to legal and business objectives. - Provide legal advice on corporate governance and administration matters. - Assist in preparing and reviewing corporate documents, such as bylaws, minutes, resolutions, and policies. - Offer legal guidance and support for various practice activities and issues. - Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and educate board, management, and staff accordingly. - Oversee outside counsel and handle complex legal matters and projects as assigned. - Anticipate and mitigate legal risks to the company through effective risk management strategies. Salary Information: - Annual salary range: $125,000 - $187,500 - CCP offers competitive compensation packages with opportunities for professional and financial growth. - Individual compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. - Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Requirements: - Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. - Five (5) years of experience in health law, either in private practice or as in-house counsel. - Must be admitted to practice law in New York within 180 days of hire. Desired Expertise: - Contract negotiation, drafting, and review. - Experience in business transactions, corporate governance, and employment and real estate issues. - Knowledge of payor contracting, emerging payment models, and healthcare regulations. - Familiarity with professional discipline, scope of practice, and patient care matters. - Understanding of compliance with state and federal health laws, such as the Antikickback Statute and Physician Self-Referral Law. - Experience in risk management and medical malpractice. - Knowledge of graduate medical education and research. - Familiarity with HIPAA and confidentiality laws. Desired Competencies: - Ability to provide empathetic counseling to healthcare professionals and colleagues. - Excellent listening skills and strong communication abilities, including clear and effective writing. - High ethical standards and attention to integrity. - Detail-oriented with strong research and organizational skills. - Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects. - Willingness to take direction and work independently. - Proactive in identifying and proposing solutions to improve systems and processes. - Active in professional development and staying updated on healthcare laws and regulations.
