The Shumaker Law Firm is actively recruiting a highly motivated Tax Attorney to join our team in Toledo, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school and an active Ohio bar license. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of professional law practice experience, with a focus on corporate and transactional tax law.

Responsibilities:

- Handle complex corporate and tax law cases for clients across Ohio and nationwide
- Structure business entities and real estate investment vehicles
- Assist with succession planning for closely held businesses
- Conduct legal research using online services and databases
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders

Requirements:

- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Active Ohio bar license
- . in Taxation or Estate Planning, or CPA preferred
- 5+ years of professional law practice experience, preferably in private practice or in-house
- Strong technological skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and practice management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superior research and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to sit in a static position for up to one-half hour at a time
- Lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally, for up to one hour per day
- Bend and stoop occasionally, for up to one-half hour per day

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, Shumaker Law Firm offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
