Law Firm Cummings & Lockwood is Seeking Experienced Attorneys for Real Estate and Estate Planning Positions

Cummings & Lockwood, a prestigious law firm with offices in Connecticut and Florida, is currently seeking experienced attorneys for two exciting positions: Residential Real Estate Senior Associate/ Counsel/ Junior Partner and International Estate Planning Senior Associate/ Counsel/ Junior Partner. Residential Real Estate Senior Associate/ Counsel/ Junior Partner Responsibilities:

- Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in residential real estate transactions
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts, leases, deeds and other legal documents related to residential real estate
- Conduct due diligence, title examinations and property inspections
- Handle closings and ensure compliance with all legal requirements and regulations
- Stay updated on changes in real estate laws and regulations and advise clients accordingly

Qualifications:

- . degree from an ABA-approved law school and active membership in good standing in the Connecticut and/or New York or Florida bars
- Active license to practice law in the state of Florida
- Minimum of 6 years' experience practicing real estate law, with a focus on residential transactions
- Strong understanding of real estate laws, standards of title and industry practices
- Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills

International Estate Planning Senior Associate/ Counsel/ Junior Partner Responsibilities:

- Advise . clients with foreign assets on proper structures to minimize . taxes and coordinate with foreign counsel
- Structure estate plan documents to benefit foreign beneficiaries
- Advise clients who are married to a . citizen spouse on tax and estate planning structures
- Assist clients with renouncing . citizenship or abandoning permanent residency
- Advise on structuring ownership in foreign businesses to minimize . tax
- Draft . estate plan documents for clients with foreign assets or beneficiaries and coordinate with foreign counsel
- Administer estates of . individuals who own foreign assets
- Advise foreign clients on investing in the ., tax efficient asset transfers, and pre-immigration planning
- Draft . estate plan documents for foreign clients with assets or beneficiaries in the . and coordinate with foreign counsel
- Administer estates of foreign individuals who own . assets
- Advise clients on . reporting requirements for foreign investments and transfers

Qualifications:

- . degree from an ABA-approved law school and active membership in good standing in the Connecticut and/or New York or Florida bars
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in international estate planning
- Experience with advising clients on . reporting requirements for foreign investments and transfers
