Duties

• Represent public agencies and school districts in litigation matters in state and federal courts, as well as in administrative hearings
• Provide strategic legal advice on public agency and education law matters
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents
• Collaborate closely with clients to address legal issues and provide guidance on case strategy
• Stay informed about legal developments affecting public agencies, and provide training as necessary

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active member of the California State Bar
• Minimum of 7-10 years of litigation experience, with a focus on public agency or education law
• Proven experience with trials and administrative hearings
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• In-depth knowledge of California public agency, employment, and education laws
