A law firm seeks a dedicated Litigation Associate to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of litigation experience and be admitted to practice law in Maine. This role involves representing clients in state and federal courts, as well as before state agencies and municipal boards. The position offers the chance to work on diverse legal matters, including corporate, real estate, utility, and employment law, in addition to litigation. Duties:

  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and other court documents.
  • Manage discovery processes and develop case strategies.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, administrative hearings, and before municipal boards.
  • Provide legal counsel and advice to clients on a range of litigation matters.
  • Work with attorneys and staff on corporate, real estate, utility, and employment law cases as needed.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to develop creative solutions for clients.
  • Maintain a high standard of client service and independent work ethic.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in litigation.
  • Admission to practice law in Maine.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage cases independently while working as part of a team.
  • Willingness to handle a diverse caseload and assist with non-litigation matters when needed.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Maine State Bar.

Skills:
