Organization: LAFLA (Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles)
Position: Paralegal (Intake) – Immigration Access Workgroup
Location: Greater Los Angeles area
Salary: $43, – $52, DOE, with excellent benefits
Availability: Immediately
Application Deadline: Continuous until position is filled
Qualifications:
- Four-year college degree or Paralegal Certificate
- One year of relevant work or volunteer experience preferred
- Experience with crisis intervention and assisting low-income individuals
- Knowledge of immigration law strongly preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Self-motivated and organized with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload
- Comfortable with technology and case management systems
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Duties:
- Provide client-centered and trauma-informed assistance to clients with immigration legal matters
- Interview, advise, and provide limited legal services under the supervision of a licensed attorney
- Maintain organized case notes and files
- Collaborate effectively with a team of attorneys, paralegals, support staff, volunteers, and students
- Participate in community outreach projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Contribute to the organization's DEI plan and goals
