Collections Legal Assistant - Full Time

ALAW, a leading nationwide law firm providing efficient and effective representation to financial institutions, is seeking a Collections Legal Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time position with benefits, including health insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of collections/legal experience in a fast-paced environment or an Associate's Degree.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare or review legal documents, including pleadings, writs, correspondence, and agreements.
- File pleadings with various courts, both by mail and electronically.
- Review court websites to determine case status and communicate with court personnel as needed.
- Schedule hearings and maintain an organized hearing calendar.
- Maintain accurate and current information in case management and client systems.
- Communicate with clients and provide updates through client-directed systems and email.
- Communicate with defendants and defense counsel regarding case status and settlements.
- Place outbound calls to defendants following firm's call policies.
- Receive incoming calls following firm's call policies.
- Provide assistance in the firm's mortgage default practice as needed.
- Provide clerical support for the office.

Requirements:

- 2 years of collections/legal experience in a fast-paced environment or an Associate's Degree.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in an accurate, detail-oriented, and highly productive manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn and work in multiple court web-based systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment.
- Will work in the firm's Tampa office.
