HeplerBroom LLC, a reputable defense firm, is seeking a highly experienced attorney to fill the role of senior associate or junior partner in its Chicago-based insurance coverage practice. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in first-party insurance coverage litigation.

Responsibilities:

- Manage insurance coverage practice based in Chicago with cases throughout the Midwest
- Oversee junior associates on assigned files
- Handle defense and prosecution of coverage matters from case inception through trial
- Possess strong understanding of first-party insurance coverage, particularly in property insurance
- Conduct 30(b)(6) depositions and depositions of insureds, public adjusters, engineers, and building contractors
- Conduct examinations under oath and provide coverage opinions to claims adjusting personnel and in-house counsel
- Defend coverage and extracontractual liability matters in state and federal courts
- Oversee and advise claims personnel and in-house counsel on property insurance appraisals

Qualifications:

- Licensed in both the State of Illinois and . District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, or other applicable federal district court
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in first-party coverage
- Strong organization and communication skills, with the ability to supervise junior associates, manage files, and report to clients
- Ability to provide writing samples, including deposition transcripts and motions
- Excellent research and analytical skills
