Sands Anderson PC is seeking a Data Privacy and Security Attorney to join our Business Group at our Raleigh-Durham office. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge legal matters related to data protection, privacy regulations, and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities:

- Provide legal counsel to clients on data privacy, security, and compliance matters
- Draft and review privacy policies, terms of use, and data protection agreements
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate data-related risks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address cybersecurity incidents and breaches
- Stay up-to-date with evolving privacy laws and regulations
- Represent clients in legal proceedings related to data breaches or privacy violations
- Advise on international data transfers and cross-border data flows

Requirements:

- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the North Carolina State Bar
- Minimum of 6 years of experience practicing data privacy and security law
- Strong knowledge of federal and state privacy regulations (., CCPA, GDPR)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification preferred
