A law firm seeks a skilled Patent Agent to join its team in Tucson, AZ, specializing in Patent Prosecution & Litigation within the fields of electrical engineering and software. Duties:
- Assist in patent prosecution tasks, including drafting and filing patent applications and managing office actions.
- Provide strategic guidance to clients on IP protection and portfolio development.
- Collaborate with engineers, legal professionals, and clients to ensure thorough and timely prosecution of patents.
- Support litigation teams by preparing relevant documentation and assisting with patent-related matters in legal disputes.
- Stay up-to-date with developments in relevant technologies and standards, including wireless communications and 5G/6G systems, as needed.
- Perform patent searches and evaluations to determine the patentability of inventions.
Requirements:
- 2 to 6 years of experience in patent prosecution and IP law.
- Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is mandatory.
- Strong background in computer science, electrical engineering, or related technical fields.
- Experience in wireless communication technologies, particularly in 5G, 6G, or 3GPP standards, is preferred.
- Experience in design engineering, particularly with semiconductor or chip companies, is a plus.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education:
- A degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field is required.
Certifications:
- Must be registered with the USPTO.
