Overview:
- Allen & Overy is a leading global law firm with expertise in banking, corporate, international capital markets, and litigation.
- Deals and cases often make headline business news and work with top corporates, financial institutions, and governments.
- The Business Acceptance Unit (BAU) is responsible for reviewing and monitoring Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs) and Terms of Engagement for clients, as well as conducting anti-money laundering and conflict checks for new legal matters.

Responsibilities:
- As an in-house legal specialist, provide expert advice and counsel on OCGs and Terms to Partners and senior BD staff.
- Analyze and resolve legal, regulatory, and commercial issues related to OCGs and Terms.
- Monitor changes in practice, professional rules, regulations, and laws to update A&O's guidance and standard form precedents.
- Support the Head of Engagement Terms and OCGs and assist in the management of the day-to-day operations of the team.
- Proactively seek to streamline processes and increase efficiency within the Engagement Terms Team.
- Assist in the design, implementation, and delivery of training programs for A&O lawyers and support departments on OCGs and Terms.
- Retrospectively audit OCGs and Terms currently in place and identify constraints.
- Experience of people management and an interest in developing mentoring skills.

Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer with significant experience in contract/commercial law and contract reviews.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and proactively, with strong task/project management skills.
- Interest in legal technology and finding technology-based solutions.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and proactive.
- Flexibility to work outside of usual working hours if required.
- Experience with a top tier law firm or professional services firm with a background in commercial, M&A, finance transactions, or dispute resolution is highly advantageous.

Salary Information:
- Estimated annualized base salary range for this position in New York or California is $140,000-$220,000.
- Actual base salary offered will depend on the overall qualifications of the individual applicant, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
- This role can be based in any of the firm's US offices.
