In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced attorneys and gain valuable real-world legal experience. You will be responsible for handling and maintaining cases from start to finish, providing support to attorneys, organizing and maintaining case files, managing caseload requirements, and monitoring budgets, timelines, and billing. Your role will also involve frequent client contact and medical record review and analysis. Responsibilities: - Analyzing complex medical records and providing objective and strategic merits opinions - Recognizing missing elements in medical records and assisting in obtaining them - Creating comprehensive medical summaries and chronologies - Assisting with discovery requests and analyzing the adequacy of discovery responses - Assisting with targeted deposition inquiries and accessing a network of testifying experts - Conducting exceptional research, writing, and editing Qualifications: - Understanding and maintaining complex litigation - Working knowledge of legal terminology and legal writing - Experience in product liability and/or wrongful death preferred, but not required Skills and Specifications: - Strong technical skills and knowledge using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook - Excellent written communication skills for editing and proofreading correspondence and legal documents - Familiarity with court procedures - Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team-oriented environment - Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities - Accurate and efficient typing abilities, with a minimum of 50 words per minute - Professional and effective communication with internal and external clients - Ability to analyze routine administrative tasks and duties - Experience keeping a medical recording tracking log Education and Experience: - Must be a licensed Nurse with experience in the healthcare field - Previous experience in the legal field is preferred, but not required At Evans & Dixon, we are committed to providing our clients with the highest level of legal services.
